I’ve dropped the galllery, which means a number of the images I used in my first post about a year ago won’t work any more. Nothing too exciting there - I know what they were, and I doubt anyone else is going to go back that far to look at them. I’ve added a wiki as well now, located at wiki.tindrumfire.com. I’m using TikiWiki, which is a bit of a beast in terms of space used. I would have preferred to use TWiki, but I couldn’t be bothered trying to configure it manually on a virtual host. It’s easy enough on a personal box, but to get it working here, I’d have to re-familiarise myself with all the default permissions and apache settings and try and work out how to get it working again. Too much work for what should be a relatively simple job.
TikiWiki has its own problems though. The permissions are overly complex for a simple deployment, and the language and configuration settings aren’t the most intuitive. I’d like to open up certain areas to be publicly editable, but I haven’t quite worked out how yet. I could be wrong, but I can’t seem to find a “creator” default permission set. There’s an “editor” default permission set, but that won’t let me create new pages.
To try and kick-start me into action this year, I’m going to use my wiki to keep track of all the projects I want to do and am currently working on, all the research I’ll need to do to get them done, and how close to completion I’m getting. I really want to get a bunch of things done this year - the first half of last year was great, but I seemed to stagnate a bit in the second half.
